Discos: Friends of mine (Adam Green, 2003)

Género: canciones para tu verano porteño

Hace algunos veranos este disco me acompañó durante tardes enteras caminando y cantando por Buenos Aires. Simplemente, porque las canciones de "Friends of mine"- segundo lp de Adam Green- se pegan de manera irresistible.

Y es que este disco es una especie de "isla" en la floja carrera de este newyorkino que alguna vez lideró a los Moldy Peaches. Ni con ellos ni en sus álbums solistas posteriores (plagados de pretensiones orquestales) este neo hippie logró alcanzar la simpleza y la inspiración de estas 15 canciones.

Años después de aquel verano, conseguí mi cd de "Friends of mine" revolviendo ofertas en la disquería Generation, en el Greenwich Village de NY. En esta época de tanta sequía, darse un chapuzón con "Bluebirds", "Friends of mine", "Musical ladders", "Frozen in time"...es simplemente refrescante. Todas ellas se pegan, se cantan, se dejan correr una y otra vez.

Entre todas, está la favorita de la mansión Ultravivido, por supuesto. Esa que con toda mala onda y unas melodías estratosféricas Adam le dedica a..."Jessica Simpson".
